Some Blessings Are For Appointed Times and Locations

NOVEMBER 11, 2020

Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
The Bible is full of stories, from the beginning Book of Genesis clear to Last Book of Revelation. Every Bible story has a purpose and was inspired by the great and purposeful Almighty God. These stories will help people of all ages learn and grow spiritually. The apostle Paul listed some of the purposes for the Bible and the life changing Stories in 2 Timothy 3:16: “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Bible stories can help make these purposes and lessons come to life for all of us.
There are so many promises in the bible and God wants to bless us, but sometimes we do not make ourselves available to God and we are not in the right place at the right time where we need to be in order to receive that blessing. Throughout the Bible we read about natural and spiritual blessings that were for appointed times and places. Those who trusted, had faith and obeyed God, received blessings. Those who did not trust and obey, did not receive the blessings and many ended in destruction. Several of my favorite stories or events in the Bible proves TIME AND LOCATION MATTERS. I love to share these stories with my youth through my CHRIS KISS MINISTRY; Meaning Chris keeping it Spiritually Simple. The story is simply told but had a very great impact.
NOAK’S ARK
In the Book of Genesis Noah was told to build an ark. God looked over the earth, he was disturbed about many things. He decided he would destroy the earth with a great flood. Although things were not as God wanted, there was still a man walking in the way of the God by the name of Noah. God told Noah to build an ark because a great flood was coming and the only way to be saved was to be in the ark. Noah listened to God and started to build the ark. God’s gave Noah pacific instructions for building the ark. People thought Noah and his family were insane and mad, after all it had never rained, much less a flood. Noah told the people over and over again that a flood was coming and the only safety would be in the ark.
Noah completed the ark and when it was time Noah gathered his family and the animals God told him to get and the door was shut. As warned, it begins to rain. The water rose high above the highest mountain, but as the water rose the ark rose higher. Noah survived because he believed God and entered the ark by faith, and all those who sought salvation, and believed God’s word were safe. Those who ignored God’s warnings or did not believe or obey – for whatever reason, those who refused to enter the ark – all who were outside the ark were destroyed and perished. TIME AND LOCATION MATTERED, THE SAFETY WAS IN THE ARK.
To receive the blessings, time and location mattered. The same is true for us today, in order to receive the spiritual blessings, of salvation, redemption, revival reconciliation, and forgiveness of sins, we must make ourselves available to Christ. Now, Today is the time and In Christ is the Location. John 15 tells us that proper place is to “abide in Christ. Today our safety is in Christ. He promises to be our hiding place and shield, hiding us in the shadow of his wings, hiding us in a secret place, delivering us from our enemies, we can take refuge in him.
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, we humbly bow our heads before You seeking wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We thank You right now for all the marvelous things You have and are doing for us. Lord please bless us to seek Your kingdom so that Your righteousness will be added unto us, helping us to be pleasing and acceptable in Your sight. It is in Your awesome and adorable name that we pray and count it done. AMEN
