My Appearance Does Not Qualify Me

NOVEMBER 12, 2020

1 Samuel 16:6-12
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord. 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, The Lord has not chosen this one either. 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, Nor has the Lord chosen this one. 10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these. 11 So he asked Jesse, Are these all the sons you have? There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. He is tending the sheep. Samuel said, Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the Lord said, Rise and anoint him; this is the one.
As I hear the lyrics from She Shifting Shifting in my ministry called out to who I’m suppose to be, don’t let this look fool you because I don’t look lie who you suppose to be. Tatted on my arm tatted on my leg fresh cut hair shaved”.
My Appearance Do Not Qualify Me……..
Just as David appearance did not qualify him.
Samuel thought based on how the other brothers were built and looked that surely, they were the chosen one to be anointed the next king. However, God told him, Nope I rejected them. Its not based on how they appear to you on the outside, I am focused on the inside. Though thier outward appearance may qualify them in your eyes, their inside disqualify them in my eyes.
God does not look at our appearance he looks at our heart. He does not want us as His people dressed and looking fancy in the latest or the most expensive armor to feel we can do the job He has called us to do. Because none of these things play a part when defeating your enemies. So, who man may qualify, God dis-qualifies. This story has always been an encouragement to me because as I look at myself and many others who have been hand picked selected, God CHOSEN ONE” many will disqualify us for our appearance, but I am thankful that the father qualify me based on my heart and not my appearance.
I may NOT look like the average Minister standing before the people, but I have been chosen. WHY? Because my appearance Do NOT qualify me!
Prayer:
Humbly Father I come before You as humbe as I know how. To first thank You for being such a loving father. Thank You for all You have done and shall continue to do. I thank You father that You do not call the qualify, but You qualify the call. Thank You for seeing in myself and others the ability to do Your will. We will so carefully give Your name the Glory, the Praise and the Honor because You are worthy of all these things and more. In Jesus name, Amen.
